Okay so I've wanted to start a blog for agesss...and having just watched the social network(still pissed at that silly genious but anyway) and having my fellow dance buddy and blogger inspire me..here I am! First blog...and what the hell am I going to write? Okay..I talk a lot and I love writing so this should be okay...right?
So back to Zuckerman...why the hell didn't I come up with that idea? Oh wait...cause I'm not a genious from Harvard...I'm a repeater from Junior College. But do we have to do something big in life to be successful? Or do little things matter more...of course..all the quotes and shit say that little things matter...but in the hard, real world we're living in...do we still bother with little things?..of course we do...otherwise we would shriek at a bouquet of roses or smile at a huge glittery xmas card...or smile so hard it hurts when your boyfriend turns up at your door unexpectedly. Little things do matter...the thing is...we're so busy with big things..we forget the little ones.
Anyway, big things and little things aside...would you have come up with fb if zuckerman hadn't? naaaah...you'd probably still be playing minesweeper!
Cheers!
I'd say minesweeper is cool.. wouldn't mind playing it if only I had time. And to stick to your first topic little things do matter not because quotes say so, as you said thats all shit, but because like in minesweeper a little square.. click on it and BOOM !! little thing carry the greatest emotions I guess.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know how these blogs "work"...so let me give it a try.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I wouldn't want to be in Zuckerman's place. OK he's a billionaire and he created one of the most followed website on earth. But he made many enemies, the worst ones being his old best friends from Harvard (and yes ... I've watched "the social life"). You can't have something that popular and not have enemies.
Anyways...my point is I'd rather NOT be famous and NOT be rich. That way the small things are appreciated. OK...its nice being rich and buy all fast cars, designer clothes, and big mansions...but that wouldn't be a simple life...and the simple things would be forgotten. Mark Zuckerman wouldn't appreciate with a wrist watch or a scarf for Christmas...if anything nothing would probably impress him.
That's why I'd rather choose the simple mediocre life rather than living BIG.
If Mark Zukkerman hadn't created facebook we would still use other social network site such as myspace, hi5, or others social network sites.
Hmmmm...well i guess that's all I've got to say :)
